Sun, sea (or mountain or just a courtyard in the city)... and our pillows!
It's the time when we are getting ready to enjoy our gardens, courtyards and outdoor spaces of stores again! Okay, we don't mean that we're locked "inside" the rest of the year, we're in Greece after all, but now... who's going to catch us!
Cushions are one of the basic elements of any outdoor space. So we shouldn't forget that they need the right care for their proper maintenance. Assuming that you have chosen cushions upholstered with fabrics or other materials suitable for outdoor use, we remind you of some basic rules for their proper cleaning and maintenance.
The sun is one of the most important elements that can alter the color and durability of cushions. Make sure that the cushion upholstery material is resistant to the sun. However, if you can protect them for some hours of the day, it will help you enjoy your pillows for even longer.
Regularly cleaning your pillows with a quick “soft brush” or “shake” to remove dust, pollen and other elements that accumulate on them will help keep them in excellent condition for longer. Clean any potential stains as soon as possible with a damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Ideally, try to avoid letting a potential wet stain dry in the sun.
When it’s time for a deeper clean, it’s best to remove the covers (if possible) from the pillows so you can hand-wash or machine-wash the fabrics, always with a mild detergent and a gentle cycle. Let the covers air dry, avoiding strong sunlight.
In any case, when choosing outdoor cushions, consult with experts before deciding on the upholstery material and of course, find out about the correct cleaning, depending on your choice.
